The multi-day Doylestown Pride Festival returns with film screenings, Pride Music Day, pop-up events, drag brunch, and the popular Block Party. The event celebrates the many diverse sexual orientations and gender identities in Doylestown and the surrounding communities.

This year, the event kicks off with two flag raisings on June 1. At 5 p.m. on the lawn of the Bucks County Administration Building (55 E Court Street) members of the community, youth representatives of the Rainbow Room, and Desi’s of Doylestown in celebration of Holi will join together for the first flag raising. Then, a short walk down to Borough Hall (10 Doyle Street) we will raise a second flag at Broad Commons Park.

The events continue on June 13 at the Michener Art Museum with a Drag and Draw event, The Michener Celebrates Pride from 6-8 p.m. More info can be found at michenerartmuseum.org/event/art-after-dark-drag-and-draw

On June 15 at 5 p.m., we host Pride Music Day in partnership with Picnics on Pine and Stage United featuring hyper-local queer punk trio Froggy with support from Mandy Valentine, and The Side Chicks.

“I am honored to work with the Doylestown Pride Festival in amplifying artists from throughout our region for a fifth year. Pride Music Day is a chance to experience a variety of voices and their perspectives through song,” says Doylestown Pride Fest volunteer Joe Montone who is helping organize this event.

Doors for the show open at 4:30 p.m., picnic spots are first come first serve. Grab your takeout from local restaurants and bring your chairs and blankets for picnicking. Tickets online only at dtownpride.com/news/2024-pride-music-day

If films are more your speed this year, the County Theater screens two films – All of Us Strangers on June 16 and Summer Qamp on June 18. For tickets and film descriptions go to countytheater.org/pride.php

What Sunday isn’t made better by mimosas and Drag? Help us wrap up Pride Week with a  lively Drag Brunch at The Hattery on June 23. This year features two seatings at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Reserve your spot by calling The Hattery at 215-345-6610. This event will sell out, so don’t delay.

Doylestown Pride Festival is a collaborative effort between the Borough of Doylestown,  Discover Doylestown, Delaware Valley University, A Woman’s Place, Michener Art Museum, The Rainbow Room, Salem United Church of Christ, Borough Council, and the Human Relations Commission. The group hosted the first Doylestown Pride Festival in June 2019, on the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots.

Coming out of the pandemic we found new ways to grow and share memorable events with the community. Funds raised through sponsorship and ticket sales of the events helped us fund the initial painting and ongoing maintenance of the rainbow crosswalk in 2023. We’re proud to say that our rainbow crosswalk was the first in Bucks County.
